A federal government organisation aimed to transform its web application testing capabilities. Facing challenges such as fragmented automation solutions, skill retention, and technical complexity, they sought a unified Test Automation Strategy.
The goal was to transition from complex, technical solutions to a modernised approach leveraging no-code/low-code platforms and Generative AI (GenAI). This new strategy aimed to establish a reusable, standardised framework for deployment across multiple projects, reducing technical complexity and maintenance overhead.
Collaborated closely with client stakeholders and the technology team to identify gaps in the existing testing process and gather insights on productivity, test case development, and release workflows. Conducted an in-depth evaluation of five no-code/low-code tools using a weighted scoring framework that prioritised ease of use, GenAI capabilities, DevOps integration, security, and cost-effectiveness.
Applitools Autonomous emerged as the recommended solution due to its advanced AI-powered testing capabilities, seamless compatibility with the client's DevOps pipeline, and cost optimisation. The team facilitated access to tools, collected performance metrics, and ran Proof of Concept (POC) sessions to validate the tool's alignment with client requirements.
Post-selection, DevOps1 implemented a gradual rollout strategy, integrating Applitools Autonomous into existing workflows while conducting workshops with senior stakeholders and test teams. Leveraging the tool's AI-driven capabilities, the approach would have enhanced testing coverage, promoted best practices, and streamlined automation efforts, ultimately fostering cleaner test development and increased team efficiency.
