A retail customer engaged DevOps1 to help them expedite their modernisation journey by assessing their Platforms and Security landscape.
Our client is a leading retail organisation with a large engineering team looking to drive improvements in their SDLC, with a focus across the 4 key DORA metrics, as well as incorporating flow metrics: ( Deployment Frequency, Change Lead time, Change failure rate, Time to restore services). A specific target of the engagement was to look at Environment Management.
Within the customer organisation, the process of implementing changes to an application is more time-consuming than necessary, slowing down the delivery lifecycle. Development and testing environments are often non-functional or unavailable for the developers and testers.
DevOps1 undertook a comprehensive assessment and high level roadmap that reviewed, assessed and made recommendations around the following key areas: Cloud, DevOps, Application Security, Test Data and Environment management, Test Automation and Performance Engineering, Release and Deployment and Metrics – all aligned to DORA and Flow metrics. The outcome for the customer is a major improvement in the flow of value and faster release and deployment times.
